Giving Tuesday is December 1, and your gift is matched
October 24, 2026

On Tuesday, December 1, the Meyer Art Center joins GivingTuesday, the global day of generosity that follows Thanksgiving. It is also the opening day of our year-end campaign, The Next Step.
GivingTuesday is a simple idea: one day each year when people give what they can to the causes in their own communities. Ours is Stanwood and Camano, and the cause is two things at once, a permanent home for art and the arts education already running in every school in our district.
Your gift is matched
Meyer Art Center board members have committed more than $25,000 in matching funds for this campaign. A gift made on December 1 is matched while those funds last. $50 becomes $100. $500 becomes $1,000.
Where your gift goes
Half of the answer is the building. The Meyer is 56% funded, with $7.3 million raised toward a $13 million project: galleries, classrooms, a digital studio and an outdoor plaza in west Stanwood.
The other half is happening right now. Afternoon of the Arts reaches every school in the Stanwood-Camano School District this year for the first time, including homeschool families at Saratoga and the transition program for students ages 18 to 22. That takes teaching artists, materials, and the staff work that turns a good idea into a class a child actually attends.
Three moments this season
GivingTuesday on December 1 opens the campaign. The Holiday Open House and Student Art Show follows on December 16 at The Floyd in Stanwood, free to attend, with student work on the walls and a Fund-a-Need appeal. Year-end gifts carry through December 31, the deadline for this tax year and for the board match.
